AsianAmericanFob wants to present the simplest form of movie reviews for those who love film. I will attempt to make sense of the insanity we see today in humanity through the world of film. We all have stories when it comes to a movie we see. For example, do you remember the first time you stepped foot into a movie theater? I was 6 years old and the first movie my mother brought me to see in a movie theater was Yentl.  If you have not see this classic, then you are missing what real film is about. From the moment I stepped foot into those theater doors, which was at Kings Plaza in Brooklyn, NY, I knew film will be my alternate reality.  Since watching that movie and hearing the words of my mother saying, ” You will be a Yentl one day. Do not be a typical Chinese girl.” At 6 years old, I had no clue why my mother brought me to see Yentl or what she meant with those words. But today, I believe I have taken to my mother’s advice and tried my best to really embrace the issues with identity, gender, education, ethnicity, and income class. So begins my journey in blogging about movies and using it to explain our reality.
